As the Business Development/Markting/Sales department for my company,
how to I convince my owner to focus the business on a particular niche
rather than trying to chase every opportunity that we have the skill-set
to do? It isn’t that we are not able to do all of the bids they want
to attempt, it is that we don’t have the references and depth to easily
show we can do it better than everyone else. I feel like we keep
chasing high competition opportunities (12-60 proposals for every
contract) in some cases 3-8 awards with whom we have to continually
    complete for job orders.
